"You're a grown woman! When will you learn? They're not REAL!"
You ran out of the room, tears welling in your eyes. How could she!? How could she say something like that to you, when she knew how much it mattered to you!
You ran, completely unaware of your surroundings, or where you were headed. You just couldn't stand that anymore. The disbelief killed you a little inside, every time you were around it.
So what, if you were an adult? So what, if you still held onto all of your Doctor Who posters and collectibles? So what, if you wore TARDIS printed converse? So what, if you treasured your model TARDIS and replica screwdrivers? So what, if you wanted to talk about him sometimes?!
You had fallen in love with the show when you were a teenager. When you had needed it most. When you felt as if your life was falling apart. That show took away your troubles and let you escape into a world filled with aliens and adventure. Unfortunately, it made you begin to crave it too. All you wanted was to join that man in his blue box and travel through space and time. It was a bit odd, how something could make you suffer, but be so happy at the same time.
You finally stopped running to find yourself in town. It wasn't large, your town, but it had a few interesting things. There was the usual café, grocery shop, post office, and your beloved library. Then there was the museum. Next to the library, it was your favorite place to go. You loved history, and knew that if you were ever to meet the Doctor, you would ask him to take you back in time. The museum wasn't large or famous. It was just the town's history and some interesting facts. But you loved it none the less.
You entered the museum and passed by the familiar guard. He waved cheerfully, and you gave a quick smile back, trying to hide your earlier tears. As you strolled throughout the past years of your town, you allowed your mind to wander. You pictured what it must have been like to live back then, what a girl you age might have been doing with her life. Eventually you came to your favorite exhibit. You sat on one of the benches and took in the history.
It had been a few hours and you still weren't ready to go back. You had stopped being sad soon after arriving, but you became angry instead. You didn't want to see people that could disrespect something that meant so much to you. You wanted to stay but didn't know what to do. Finally you decided to take out your phone. There wasn't any wifi in the ancient museum, so you immediately went to scrolling through your photos. Of course most of them were Doctor Who pictures. Some made you laugh and some made you want to cry, but you loved them all and never got tired of them. Eventually you got to a photo that you had found a while back. It talked about how the TARDIS was infinite and could quite possibly hold our entire universe in one of its rooms. It made you stop and think. You thought to yourself jokingly, /Well that's great. Now all I have to do is find the right door!/ You smiled to yourself and closed your phone. You knew it was time to return.
You pulled yourself to your feet, and began to walk towards the exit. By now, you were the last person there. It was so peaceful and tranquil, you took the long way to the door. On your way there, you passed by one of the janitors closets. You stopped and wondered if it really was a janitors closet. With the picture in mind, you tugged on the handle. Surprisingly, it wasn't locked. You hesitated before opening it. Then, in one swift movement, you swung the door open...
Your heart fell as you saw the assorted mops, brooms, and buckets. You closed the door and moved on.
As you passed another closet, you stopped again. You had loved the rush of hope and adrenaline in the moment before you opened the door, and you decided to try it again. Just another closet.
Now you ran though the halls, opening every closet-like door you could find. A smile growing on your face.
Finally, you opened another door. You were about to move on, expecting another closet, but instead you were greeted with a hallway. It was odd, but that was probably just your imagination. It couldn't be odd that the museum would have offices. That was probably what it was. A hallway of offices. But you couldn't shake the feeling that it didn't belong.
You stepped forward and peeked through the opening. You turned your head and looked down the hall. It certainly didn't look like it held offices... In fact, it was empty and another hallway was attached to the end of it. You pulled back and thought for a moment. You knew full well that you shouldn't just wander into unknown places. Especially if it might belong to someone else, but you couldn't help being curious. What was that quote? 'It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission'...?
With a gulp and a deep breath, you stepped through the doorway and into the strange hallway. You were surprised that nothing happened. You expected some strange change or rippling of the air, instead it all felt the same.
You turned around and heard someone coming. You knew it was the guard coming to tell you it was closing time, but you couldn't leave. Not yet. You had to explore this hallway. So you quickly grabbed the handle and pull the door shut softly. You put your ear to the door and listened as he walked by. When he was gone, you breathed a sigh of relief.
That's when you noticed you were now alone in the museum. Or wherever you were... You stared at the door you had walked through. Without thinking, you pulled a sharpie out of your shoulder bag and scrawled a single word on the door's surface: HOME.
You didn't know why you did it. You were probably vandalizing public property, but something told you that you should. You shook your head and turned around again. You walked down the hall to further explore where you were...
It felt like it went on forever. You began to wonder if you'd get lost and if you should just turn back now. Then you stumbled upon a huge room.
You immediately recognized it. It was the control room of the TARDIS! Was it a set or something? A replica? Your mind went through a million questions when you finally noticed a man at the controls. Your gasp echoed through the room and it was impossible not to catch his attention. He whirled around and stared at you, "Oh! Who are you?!" You could only stare back in reply. Your hands grasped the railing and you finally managed to stutter out, "I-it's you... Y-you're real..."
"Well of course I'm real. The question is: Are you real?"
You knew you had to be dreaming. This couldn't actually be happening. He couldn't actually be here. You didn't even notice his question and you blurted, "Doctor!" His eyes widened, "How...? How do you know...? Who are you?"
"I found the right door..."

The Unknown Companion- Doctor X Reader (Chap 7)
You were ushered outside by Rose towards the TARDIS. Even though you both agreed to stay at the Opera house, there was the issue of the panicking crowd. When you made it out, Rose turned to you, crossed her arms and sighed.
“Why are you so calm about this?” she tried to stay as relaxed as possible, “A man was just hung, (Name)!”
“I know...” you replied, “But there’s nothing we can do...”
“Nothing we can do? We could try to figure out who did it and stop them.”
“No... The Doctor won’t come for us if w-”
“How do you know that?!” Rose interrupted

Ever since you had moved to London, you had utterly lost touch with any and all friends you had previous to the move; and they were what had kept you entertained in your simple yet boring day to day life. Now, there was nothing. You had started a job at a department store recently but it was obvious to people that you despised it. The customers were always rude to you and never

You let out a sigh and looked back to Rose who now seemed to look impatient. You blinked and she rolled her eyes at you.
“We need to go now (Name),” Rose let out in a slightly panicked voice, “We have no idea how much more time the doctor has. So now we need to leave. Now.”
Even if you were utterly confused about your own life, you knew you needed to save the Doctor’s. There was something nagging at your brain anytime you thought of the Doctor, telling you to leave as soon as you possibly could. You looked towards Dez and smiled sadly.
“Rose is right Dez…” you breathed out, “We need to

Hi again. Wow, look at me, posting stuff so soon.
Anyway, if you haven't guessed, you are from this dimension and since I didn't make the Doctor specific, you can choose who you want it to be. Also, I cut it off here because I didn't want it to resemble one of my other stories too much... So! I hope you liked it!

I'm glad that i found this story. Thank you for feeding my dreams with this one
I cried after i read it because i'm a great admirer of the TARDIS herself. Yeah, i like the Doctor too. But the imagination that i open a door just to find myself inside a Tardis let me shiver. I mean, isn't she an absolute amazing beautiful being? (I'm sure the Doctor would answer to this question with "yes") If i would find such a door one day... Me aboard on the TARDIS? Aww, so many places to see and things to learn~ Be afraid Planets, moons, astroids, (metroids, comets), other space ships and every point in time and space - you are no longer safe from me.
